Dear <inserted name>:

I write you today to highlight the kind of flat-out wrong thinking that goes into our current child support "awards", including the wanton violation of the right to equal protection under the law.

Attached you will find a news release from an organization called "Alliance for Non-Custodial Parents Rights". The article details a number of little-known facts about an organization that has been lobbying – successfully – for increases in child support.

However, despite the apparent tawdry nature of this organization and its leader, it remains a backdrop (although an important one) to the real reason for my letter this day.

The real issue arises from the final quote in this news commentary: "There is accumulating evidence that men are challenging their wives for custody of the children precisely because it is cheaper to keep them than to pay child support."

Does this not sum up the entire issue for you as a legislator and us as a nation?

Is this not an admission from the very people who have been most loudly clamoring for increased child support awards over the last 30 years that these awards are excessive and were intended to be excessive from their inception?

That simple statement – from a radical feminist no less – outlines the entire issue in bright lights.

Now, in print, the feminists have the audacity to admit their true agenda – the raw transfer of money from men to women, with no regard for the kids whatsoever. There simply is no other way to read that statement!

If this is not a bald-faced admission that this is a prima-facie violation of men’s right to equal protection under the law I don’t know what would be.

Where is the legislation and enforcement of men’s constitutional rights on this issue?

Can you, even with these bald-faced admissions of malevolent intent – ignore the truth? Is it not time to take a cold, hard look at the law – and make immediate adjustments through appropriate legislation to child support awards?

I have previously sent you a copy of my model child support formula recommendations, along with selected web site excerpts from the site at http://fathers.denninger.net. I trust you have received, and had time to review, that material by now.

It is high time to sponsor a few bills and get the work of reform – the people’s business – in fixing what has become a corrupt and politically motivated system intent on destroying the family moving forward.

Can I count on your offices to do exactly that?

I welcome a dialogue with your offices at any time to fashion legislation that protects our children – both financially, and in their right to a meaningful relationship with both parents.
