Dear Sir or Madam:

I received my April 2000 issue of your fine publication this afternoon.

On Page 167, I was surprised – pleasantly – to find your publication of the manuscript by Joe Seldner entitled “My Fight to Keep My Kids”.

What you, and the rest of your readers critically need to take away from this article are the following points:

1.                Joe, despite having won against a woman who falsely and maliciously accused him of the most heinous acts imaginable, is the one who was financially destroyed.

2.                The impact on his children from this series of malicious acts is beyond comprehension.

3.                These events are not rare and yet the false accuser is almost never punished.  I have yet to see one case where full restitution for the fiscal damage done to the accused has been enforced!

False allegations of abuse – either of the spouse or of the children – are the nuclear weapon of divorce litigation.  These tactics are frequently employed for the purpose of litigation strategy, and once emboldened by the lack of a meaningful penalty when the attempt fails initially (as is almost always true) they are frequently repeated and amplified.

We, as good and decent people in this country, must stand up and say “enough”.  It is high time that persons who make false and malicious allegations of this sort go to prison and be forced, by statute, to make full restitution to the parent maligned, including all of their legal fees and costs.  They must also be forever barred from both future reporting and custody of the children involved.

Today I lead a fight for state-by-state and national reform of the divorce, custody and support laws to stop these and many other abuses.  You can read more on this and many other related topics on the web at http://childrens-justice.org.

I call upon PARENTS to get involved in this fight and welcome dialogue on how we can work with each other to rid our country of these malicious acts against the children of our nation.

Sincerely,

Karl Denninger
